Tenebrae at the Cathedral

Latin for “shadows” or “darkness” is a Christian religious service celebrated in the Holy Week within Western Christianity, on the evening before or early morning of Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and Holy Saturday. Tenebrae is distinctive for its gradual extinguishing of candles while a series of readings and psalms are chanted.

Please note that there will be 3 special Tenebrae ceremonies on the Holy Week schedule. On Holy Thursday April 9 at 8 AM, On Good Friday April 10 at 10 AM and on Holy Saturday at 10 AM.
