SUMMARY:Divine Mercy Holy Hour
DESCRIPTION:Join us at the Cathedral for a Holy Hour Commemoration the Devotion of Divine Mercy. \nThe Divine Mercy devotion is a Catholic spiritual practice centered on trust in God’s infinite mercy\, revealed through a series of apparitions experienced by Polish nun St. Faustina Kowalska in the 1930s. Our Lord appeared to her asking that his merciful love be proclaimed to the world\, resulting in several key elements of the devotion: the Divine Mercy Image (depicting Christ with rays of red and white light streaming from his heart\, accompanied by the words “Jesus\, I trust in You”)\, the Chaplet of Divine Mercy (a prayer said on rosary beads)\, and the Feast of Divine Mercy (celebrated on the Sunday after Easter). The devotion emphasizes that no sinner is beyond God’s forgiveness and encourages frequent reception of the sacraments. It was formally approved by the Catholic Church and championed by Pope John Paul II\, who canonized St. Faustina in 2000
